Capacity Building Training
The Capacity Building Training consisted of 8 training days which was delivered to eleven participants including seven individual farmers, three small scale processing units and one processing factory. The training covered the following areas and subjects:
- An introductory theoretical training was delivered to the targetted trainees,while the consultant submitted a comprehensive and clear methodology to conduct the training.
- The requirements (know-how) of processing for the aforementioned products either in traditional or semi-mechanical technique specifically for paste and molasses were addressed during the training, in addition to introducing new processing varieties e.g date syrup.
- Traditional and semi-mechanical system used for paste and molasses were considered when conducting the practical training.
- The consultant focused on the processing and quality requirements that will produce an acceptable level of commercial products including packaging and tagging techniques.
- Through the practical training, the consultant mentored the trainees on site and provided the required recommendations for the three categories of trainees on improving processing techniques and adopting best processing practices.
