To assist the cluster members, mainly farmers and processing units to add value to Local Production of Fresh Dates through processing the surplus produce, a strategy has been developed to achieve the main goal of increasing the domestic share of date and palm products in the domestic market.
The main objective of this assignment was to add value to local production of processed date products by improving its quality, production, packaging, reducing the post-production losses (quality & Quantity), providing the food safety for accessing the market by meeting the Palestinian standards required by the handlers, processors, and the final consumers, and utilizing the date’s surplus and low quality fruits (bulk of the Balah & Ruttab production) in producing a wide range of ingredients for many food products through increasing the knowledge of Date and Palm cluster members in the techniques of the processing.
