The Leather and Shoe Cluster completed the first stage of its plan to open new markets to the members of the cluster. The British expert Peter Raklift conducted an evaluation of the cluster products. He then conducted a market survey to identify at least three markets with a high chance for the cluster to penetrate. Those markets were as follows:
Gulf market.

1. The Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Norway and Sweden).
2. Central Asian, namely, Kazakhstan.

In a closing meeting on 02/09/2015, with the presence of a group of the cluster members, an analysis was presented to explain the reason for choosing these markets and then the Central Asian countries were selected as a priority to develop tools to enter these markets during the second phase of the plan.
