Salfit furniture cluster has well equipped factories for furniture manufacturing, most of the machines are CNC, but the production process itself is not well managed for most of the cluster factories, whereas ten companies had participated in Lean Program for waste reduction and enhancing the productivity.
Still one of the main issues for the cluster companies is the lack of proper management system to ensure the consistency and quality of the products. Moreover, the cluster companies are lacking of proper production management and documentation procedures, which made the internal analysis of the process of tracking product, perform very difficult.
The cluster were trying to expand their market share locally and internationally, therefore ensuring the quality of the products became necessary for the cluster members in order to meet the market entry requirements.
The cluster supported five factories to build a quality management system in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. This includes building complete system for each of them, and training them on using it in order to be ready for ISO certification if they decided to take this step in the future.
