As part of Salfit furniture cluster strategy is to expand in the local market and enter new international markets, the cluster has been papering itself by building its capacities in different fields like production and management. In addition, the cluster needs to match the market requirement wither with designs and technical regulations.

the cluster companies are producing and selling furniture in the local market and nearby markets, these products are safely packaged without any kind of product labeling, which is mandatory for all products wither it was furniture or any other product in Palestine or elsewhere. The ministry of national economy recently and through the consumer production has developed a market regulation strategy; the furniture sector is being identified as one of the sectors that will be dealt with in next three years through this strategy in which the ministry will enforce the labeling requirement for all furniture product in the local market.

The labeling requirement for the furniture requires each products to have a “Product Specification Sheet”, which shows the basic technical information of the products in terms of design, dimension and other aspects of the product. therefore the cluster has encourage the members to built their capacities by developing professional labeling and product specification in accordance with local regulation and the European specification to comply with both market regulation and market entry requirement.

The cluster hired a consultant who built with some companies their capacities in developing proper product labeling and specification sheet by coaching and training to follow this practices on regular bases and be able to adapted labeling requirement.
